2. Lesson Conditions
2.1 Trial Lesson
The first lesson is considered as trial lesson, it lasts for 30 minutes and it’s free of charge. Student is not obliged to continue with music lessons after the trial lesson. Therefore, the free trial lesson is available only once.
2.2 Lesson Location
- At the piano teacher’s home.
- At the student’s home.
- Online lessons via Zoom or other meeting platform.
2.3 Duration and Frequency
The lesson duration will be agreed upon with the student based on the available lessons on the website.
The dates will be agreed upon individually between the parties.
2.4 Validity
- The lessons from the 5-lesson package must be used within 3 months.
- The lessons from the 10-lesson package must be used within 6 months.
3. Fee
3.1 Payments
Payment for individual private lessons will be made after each lesson is completed.
Lesson packages must be paid in advance, after invoice is received. Lessons will start after payment is completed.
An invoice will be issued for each individual private lesson or lesson package purchased, with payment due within 30 days. In case of late payment, lessons will be suspended until full payment is received.
3.2 Payment Methods
Invoices can be paid via Twint, direct bank transfer, or cash.
The price of each lesson or package bundle is clearly stated on the website. Payments will be made by agreement.
Travel costs for home visits are included for Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Gossau (SG) and St. Gallen (city). For locations outside these regions, an additional travel fee of 10.00 CHF per home visit applies.
If two persons from the same household attend two or more consecutive piano lessons they pay travel costs only once.
3.3 Fee Increase
An increase in the lesson fee by the teacher is possible. However, it must be made at the teacher’s reasonable discretion and must be announced in writing at least 6 weeks in advance.
4. Cancellations
Cancellations of the scheduled lesson must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. For later cancellations, the full lesson price will be charged and this lesson will be treated as completed.
If a student fails to attend a scheduled lesson without prior notice, it will be handled the same way as a late cancellation (less than 24 hours’ notice), meaning the full lesson fee will be charged.
If the student or teacher has a valid reason for being unable to attend the lesson, the lesson will not be counted as completed and a new date/time will be arranged.
5. Liability
The piano teacher is not liable for damages caused by improper use of the piano or due to the client’s lack of caution.
6. Term of Contract and Termination
- In case of individual lessons, the contract can be terminated after each lesson by either party.
- In case of the package, the contract can be terminated by either party at any time with 14 days’ written notice. Appointments already agreed within the notice period must be paid by the terminating party or attended. The remaining lessons from the package will be refunded.
7. Choice of Law and Jurisdiction
This contract is governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contract is the teacher’s place of residence.
8. Final Provisions
Amendments and additions to this contract must be made in writing. Should any provision of this contract be invalid, the remaining provisions of the contract shall remain valid. The invalid provision shall be replaced by one that most closely approximates the economic purpose of the invalid provision.
